DESCRIPTION:Lani (Boardman) Silversides\, a native of York\, is on a personal mission to inspire girls and women to be proud of their strong\, athletic\, and tough selves. She is doing so through her website www.mystrongisbeautiful.com and her self-published book\, My Strong is Beautiful. The book features photographs\, taken by Silversides\, of young girls from toddler through high school age being active. \nSilversides is a 2001 graduate of York High School where she earned 12 varsity letters participating in soccer\, basketball\, and track. She was an all-state soccer goalie and state champion hurdler. She is part of the 1\,000 point and rebounding club for basketball and was Maine female athlete of the year in 2001. She went on to play Division 1 basketball for four years at University of Vermont. Silversides has been inducted into the York High School and New England Basketball halls of fame. She has been teaching mathematics and coaching at Phillips Academy in Andover since 2005. \nCome meet this talented young woman and talk with her about her upcoming projects.
